About Us

Welcome to Utah Pet Sitter.  My name is Ty Brown and pets have been my passion since I was a child.

When I was 14 years old I secured my first job working for a professional dog trainer.  By the time I was 15 I was running dog training obedience classes and caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds, and temperaments along with raising rabbits, owning cats, snakes, turtles, lizards, and fish.

My dog training adventures continued in my early twenties when I worked for a high end training dog training company on the East Coast for several years where I managed the training activities and kennel operations of a large protection dog company.

For the last several years I’ve owned and operated Utah’s #1 and most acclaimed dog training company, CommuniCanine.

My background in training, behavior, and management of pets is one of the biggest advantages to Utah Pet Sitter.  Our staff is the most educated and trained staff when it comes to behavior, safety, and care of your pet.  What our expertise in training, behavior, and management mean to you is that your pets are in the safest of hands when you are away.  Whether it’s walking your dog, ensuring that your pets aren’t getting loose while you are gone, or evaluating the behavior of a stressed out pet we are better qualified than other companies to make sure that your pets are the most safe, most comfortable, and most relaxed when you can’t be home.

Our Salt Lake City Pet Sitting Manager, Valerie Fackrell

Hello. My name is Valerie Fackrell. I was born and raised in the green mountains of Vermont and having many pets was a staple. As a young child, my love for animals was all that existed for me. My parents would find me ‘rescuing’ injured mice, birds or other animals regularly. As we lived on seven acres of forest, we had many different pets such as dogs, cats, ducks, chickens and peacocks. At one point, we even had a hawk that my father had rescued from the forest that we fed and cared for before he was released back into the wild.

When I had children the variety of pets we cared for expanded. We raised rabbits, cared for many breeds of dogs, cats, guinea pigs, reptiles, and birds, along with the hamsters that seem to be a requirement for all children.

Within my adult life, my love of animals grew and I became a vegetarian and animal activist. Empathy for the feelings of all animals guided my activities and became a cause that I passionately stood for. Though I did attempt to maintain corporate employment, I found it was not my nature and I enrolled and graduated from Massage Therapy College, which included pet massage in its education. This enabled me to learn even more about the sensitivity and care that is necessary for quality and superior care for animals of all species.

The extensive training I have received from CommuniCanine has expanded my knowledge and brought a focus that I feel is important and extremely rewarding.

I now enjoy life in South Salt Lake with my husband. Our family includes my German Shepherd, Samson, and my kitten, Scarlet.
