Pet Sitting Questions

How do I reserve for your pet sitting services?
That is the easy part. Call us to set up a time for a consultation. We will visit you at your home for an initial consultation. The purpose of this is to meet you and your pet, and gather all necessary information specific to his/her care. Once you have outlined your pets needs and your wishes, everything will be taken care of. You are now free to go ahead with your plans, confident that your pet will receive the finest care in your absence.

What is included in a routine visit for my pet?
A “routine” visit by a pet sitter includes:
Putting your dog or cat out for fresh air or a “potty break”
Fresh food and water
Playtime, exercise, and dog walking (15 to 30 minutes)
Cleaning litter box/area clean up
Giving medications if required
Retrieving mail/newspaper
Adjusting drapes/lighting
Watering plants

What kind of specific animals have the pet sitters had experience with?
We’ve seen them all!  Our sitters have worked with dogs, cats, birds, fish, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, ferrets, rats, and reptiles including frogs, snakes, and lizards.

What happens when the pet sitter visits for the consultation?
With the consultation and reservation we record notes about your pet, such as his/her likes, dislikes, fears, habits, medical conditions, medications, and routine.

Is the pet sitter associated with a veterinarian who can provide emergency services?
While we can often make recommendations for veterinarians in your area we prefer to have your veterinarian’s contact details.  During our consultation we’ll take the details of your veterinarian and any emergency contact info.

What will happen if the pet sitter experiences car trouble or becomes ill? Do we have a backup?
Absolutely. If the pet sitter experiences car trouble the appointment and set time will be met by a different employee in our company. If your hired pet sitter becomes sick, a different employee within our company will finish the pet sitting appropriately and as advised by the scheduled employee.

Will the pet sitter provide related services such as in-home grooming, dog walking, dog training, and play time?
Yes, we can provide all kinds of related services.  Please see our services and prices pages for more details.

Will we provide a written service contract spelling out services and fees?
After the consultation is finished the reservation is made with a deposit, and a written service contract with services and fees totaled for customer and company protection. Payment can be made through either an atm or debit card with an additonal 3% transaction fee. Or, payment can be made through cash or check with no additional fee.

Do we provide live-in services?
At this time we do not provide live-in services at the owners home, we only provide visits per day depending on the type of animal and its unique conditions. Your pet will be very well taken care of and services and routine will apply for feeding, play time, and cleaning.

What are the specific times we agree to be with your pet? Is this detailed in the contract?
At the owners recommendation we can be flexible to schedule specific times to visit your pet and keep them on their routine. Everything is detailed in the contract and not deviated from at the owner’s request.

How do we make sure that you have returned home?
There will be a scheduled date and time for the pet sitting services, however, we always make a final phone call on the day the owner arrives home to make sure the owner is home, the pet will be cared for and they are happy with our services as agreed upon.
